Explorations of the dark matter

Speaker : Dr. Disha Bhatia, IMSc

Abstract :

The absence of any visible signatures of dark matter candidates make them elusive. In this talk, I will briefly highlight the theoretical and experimental advances which have taken place in the field for determination of the dark matter properties. The field has largely moved from the model dependent to model independent methods which includes the classification of broad nature of the dark matter candidates to reduce the theoretical biases at the experiments. In this context, I will talk about two of my recent works, which highlights the importance and necessity of model independent probes a) in context of determining the maximum reach of the thermal dark matter candidates b) in contextof the dark matter search experiments at Large Hadron Collider.
