My research group is focused on synthesis of several 2D quantum materials including transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), Topological Insulators (TIs) and anisotropic layered materials using mechanical exfoliation and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and to explore the emerging quantum phenomena. We fabricate in-plane as well as van der Waals heterostructures made out of these materials for different inter-layer rotation, which leads to an immersing field known as Twistronics. In addition, we also work on technology development using 2D membranes for non-intermittent renewable energy generation (Blue Energy) using salinity gradient.
