Current Research

We emphasize on ‘hands on’ training on time-domain photophysics, nonlinear optics & fluorescence microscopy. The entire focus is on imparting the experimental skills to the students that generally go parallel to the black-box, push-button technology. Along with the ‘fabrication-development’ activity, the students are motivated to take up the numerical modelling of the phenomena under studies on contemporary-interdisciplinary topics. The relaxation of the entity known as the excited state” achieved via photoexcitation - is the single point agenda. The phenomena under investigation are “ultrafast relaxation processes with laser-induced transient grating, Z-scan and phase conjugation techniques” and properties of “whispering gallery modes” of symmetric structures embedded with fluorescent materials. The resonance excitation-energy transfer and electron transfer processes are often encountered in the systems while interacting with the non-fluorescent or, low-dimensional materials.
