ABSTRACT :

Cosmological inflation apparently occurred at a scale far beyond the reach of accelerators, and relatively close to the Planck scale. As such, it may provide a bridge between string theory and particle physics. As an example of such a possible bridge, I will discuss a string-inspired cosmological framework based on no-scale supergravity and unification in flipped SU(5), which combines Starobinsky-like inflation with acceptable densities of conventional and dark matter.
