WHAT :
The recent discovery of the Higgs boson at LHC has created waves across the world of physics. Attempts to interpret and analyse the data obtained are in full flow. With newer experiments being designed, there arises a need for the knowledge of current-day research to be spread to upcoming generations of researchers.
With this motive, The Department of Physics, IIT Madras, is organizing the IX SERC School on Experimental High Energy Physics this year. This program aims at providing young researchers an opportunity to understand and explore the theoretical and practical aspects of high energy physics.This school is designed primarily to provide up-to-date information on the recent forays into this field.
A range of topics from elementary particle physics to detector systems and accelerators are to be covered. Participants will also be given the opportunity to have hands-on experience in the laboratories.

ELIGIBILITY :
Students currently undertaking PhD at Indian universities.
However, there are limited openings for students in their Postgraduate studies and scientific researchers currently working in this field.
