Ph.D. Program

Program Overview

Open to students with a strong masters level background in physics. Exceptional students with a B.Tech/BE degree are also eligible for this program. During the first year the students need to complete a set of mandatory courses and clear comprehensive examination at the end of the year.

A stipend of Rs. 16,000 thousand is provided during the first two years and Rs. 18,000 for the next three years. The graduate students are expected to assist the faculty in teaching.

Selection Process

The students are selected through a written test and interview conducted by the department. Those who have qualified at lease one of GATE/JEST/NET are eligible to apply.
