With significant progress in the energy generation technology, the perovskite-based solar cells (PSCs) have gained an adequate attention. Among these, the lead-based PSCs have achieved tremendous credentials with low cost and high efficiency. However, the toxic nature of the lead and instability of perovskite causes hindrance to their commercialisation. Here, we propose tin and germanium based inorganic perovskite as alternatives to lead perovskites. In the first part of my talk, I will brief about my Ph.D. work which I carried out on the polymer composites. In the remaining part, I will discuss the challenges and possible outcomes of tin and germanium-based PSCs.
