Quantum mechanics in the sky?

According to the theory of cosmic inflation, which has been confirmed by the most recent astrophysical measurements, structures in our Universe (galaxies, clusters of galaxies, cosmic microwave background anisotropies etc.) are nothing but quantum fluctuations, amplified by gravitational instability and stretched to cosmological scales by cosmic expansion. In this talk, I shall review this scenario and discuss whether recent tools, developed in the context of quantum information theory, can be used in Cosmology in order to further probe the quantum origin of primordial fluctuations.
