Areas of Interest
Current Research
My research focuses on traversable wormholes, hidden symmetries in Einstein equations in the presence of a Killing vector, uniqueness of supersymmetric black holes, attractor mechanism, non-supersymmetric attractors and their stability, multiple attractors. Attractor mechanism plays a very crucial role in understanding the black hole entropy. In particular it explains why the entropy of black holes depend only on the quantized charges of the black hole and not on any continuous parameter such as the moduli associated with the vector multiplets and hyper multiplets. Of particular interest is the issue involving the multiplicity of attractors, i.e., the existence of different attractor points with the same value of charges. This has important consequence in describing the microscopic entropy of black holes. We focus on studying multiple attractors in different string theory compactifications.
